Cutting A Vein

Yesterday's game was a buzz-killer, but as the Twins have played all season, I expect better results when the pressure is really on. It was a real rush to try and work a few hours, hop on the light rail, and make it the game on time yesterday amid the chaos with 55,000 people trying to get to downtown Minneapolis when many parking spots were already taken by daily commuters. Luckily, I gave myself an hour to get a mere 9 miles from my office to the dome via the train - and was just skinny enough to squeeze into the first train car that came.

A couple weeks ago, Nancy and I got our blood types tested at the state fair. Turns out that I am an O negative, the universal donor type, and that it's most sought after blood type right now. I've never given blood before, but figured I should stop being lazy and donate already. So, I signed up with a blood drive through work and plan to give a pint of myself away in a couple weeks. Needles don't bother me - in fact, I almost enjoy watching shots or blood being taken from me.
