Change Coming?
I'm starting to get juiced up for the elections. Things for the righties are going sour seemingly constantly, suddenly Bush is changing his public approach on Iraq, and Democrats around this ever-growing purple state are doing well in the pre-election polls.
Though he isn't a senator in this state, it's been hard to miss Sen. Barack Obama, D.-Ill. on the tube. He's doing interviews constantly over the past two weeks and I've caught much of them on shows like Meet the Press, Larry King, Tavis Smiley, Oprah and others. He's definitely not shying away the question of whether he'll run for president in 2008 and he reguarly talks about priorities that are important to me. He seems geniune, grounded and I applaud him for actually answering questions instead of dancing around them like most politicians. I want to hear more about his ideas, so I went out and bought his new book.
I feel like the lefties were doing well in the polls prior to the 2004 election when I held out hope for Kerry-Edwards and others. This time I'm holding my breath - but I might just about throw a party if big changes come to Congress in less than 2 weeks.
